The inedible, polyurethane coated black beans that form Collar present the body with the prospect of sustenance while simultaneously denying the wearer the possibility of satiation. Obstructing the neck, mouth and nose, the “Collar” describes a relationship of mass production which is at once gratifying and ineffectual; a paradox which may be detrimental to the wearer.
